My Story
I studied Gifted & Talented Education in several universities (University of Pavia; Irvine University, California, (USA); University of Connecticut (USA); Radboud University, Nijmegen (Netherlands).
Since 2012 I have been involved in teacher training in the field of gifted & talented education and in the development of talents with a pedagogical-inclusive approach. In November 2020 I completed a PhD in Education, in the field of Special Education and Gifted Education (University of Bologna) with a dissertation on teachers’, parents’ and administrators’ perceptions on giftedness.
In September 2021 I finished a postdoctoral at the Great Plains Center for Gifted Studies (Emporia State University, Kansas, USA). I was a member of the Technical Committee set up by the Italian Ministry of Education on giftedness.
Since 2019 I am a member and delegate for Italy of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC), a non-profi t for gifted children. Furthermore, I am a Member of the European Council for High Ability (ECHA), and of the SIREF (Italian Society of Educational and Training Research).
I am the author of the Italian texts “Teaching for the development of Talents” (2019) and “Teaching for the added gift through the development of talents” (2020) both published by Pitagora; I have also written numerous articles published in national and international academic journals and I have been as speaker at numerous international conferences dedicated to gifted children and the development of talents.
